About Bellahima

Nearly 20 years in the making

Each Snowshoe is as unique as a snowflake, no two are alike.

Hello!!! My name is Kerri and I'm the Human behind Bellahima Snowshoes. I have always been madly passionate about cats. My love affair with cats began when I was five years old. My Mum brought home a tiny little Tortie Siamese cross kitten. To this day one of my fondest memories of my childhood was helping my Mum carry the box inside and squealing with delight every time this little sassy bundle would claw at my fingertips that poked inside the box handle cutouts. Welcome home little Pepper!! We had our dear Pepper as part of our family just shy of twenty-one years. I was graced with the company of many cats in my early adult life while I was a hobby breeder of Siamese, Burmese, and Tonkinese. Then in 2001 I stumbled across a stunning picture of a Snowshoe. I was hooked!! Unfortunately, at that stage, the Snowshoe was not available in Australia. On a whim late one night back in December 2014 I did another search for the elusive Snowshoe. That's when I came across Skiboots Snowshoes. After a very long conversation with Cathy I was excited at the prospect of not only owning a gorgeous Snowshoe, but also at the idea of joining Cathy in breeding these lovely cats. But life had other ideas and for next two and a half years I was intensely focused on my youngest son's health issues. But as Destiny would have it, the idea of becoming a Snowshoe breeder would become a real possibility again. In May 2017 we welcomed Skiboots Aurora and in March 2018 we welcomed Skiboots Kailash, followed by Skiboots Tosca in October 2018. We then welcomed our beautiful stud, Harper Charlie in 2021. Harper travelled all the way from the Czech Republic to join us here in Australia.
